Yark Zota Beyan

Yark Zota Beyan is a facilitator, organizer, and Senior Manager of Member Development and Education at Funders for Justice. She works to mobilize funders to better resource BIPOC grassroots movements advancing racial justice, gender justice, disability justice, and community-led models of safety and liberation.

She is currently a Public Engagement Fellow at The New Hood and an Emerging Leader Fellow with Leadership for Democracy and Social Justice. Yark holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stony Brook University and is pursuing a Master of Science in Public and Urban Policy at The New School.

Recognized nationally for her leadership in civic engagement, she co-founded the award-winning Center for Civic Justice at Stony Brook University, which has registered over 60,000 students to vote and empowers youth democratic engagement through town halls, GOTV efforts, and civic education programs. A recipient of the Andrew Goodman Foundation’s Hidden Heroes Award and Stony Brook University’s Excellence in Civic Leadership Award, she is passionate about building spaces rooted in collective care, access, and imagination.
